Transparency banners / size: 2000x500 cm
For the book launch of Open 22 / The Transparency Issue / I designed the banners, online invitations and flyers in collaboration with Monika Grüzite and Loraine Birsak. The invitation that was sent out is visible on the SKOR website. This issue of Open investigates how transparency and secrecy are intertwined in modern-day society and explores how they relate to the public and the civic, using WikiLeaks as a special case. Lectures were given that day by Foundland and Merijn Oudenampsen and we / ArtEZ students from the Minor Design Critique / show-cased our work under the theme Radical Transparency.
Without noticing, we often trade in our personal information for some sort of service. Signing up to Gmail or ordering concert tickets online requires you entering your full name, gender, address, date of birth and phone number. For the poster series we searched for every possible piece of information that the speakers of the lectures, the authors of the publication and the Minor Design Critique students had filled out online. For some it was confronting to see the amount of information that could be traced back to them.
